What I’m Working On

The Long Ball

The Long Ball began as a simple home run distance leaderboard, born out of curiosity on a Friday night. LBI is now a stat that measures how dangerous is a hitter as a home-run threat, relative to the rest of the league, every time he steps to the plate. You’ll find many more new stats that measure how batters put balls into play, as well as the pitcher side of the long ball. Check it out here: thelongball.app

Connect Illinois

Connect Illinois is a non-profit registered in Illinois focused on bringing transit to all. It began as Connect Kane, an effort to bring reliable transit, such as Pace buses or services such as Ride in Kane to a larger population of rural commuters that don’t have access to a car. Connect Kane is now the first initiative in Connect Illinois, which acts as a transit advocate for better statewide commuter access. PathfinderCare

Caring for a loved one is something many people go through oftentimes without the support they deserve. It’s also difficult for caregivers to know where to look for help, and what help might be available. PathfinderCare is set to help connect caregivers with access to programs and support for both those they’re caring for, as well as their own needs. The pilot is set for DuPage county. Roster Capital CFB

Heading into the college football season this year, I was curious to see which universities had spent the most NIL dollars. My hypothesis was that a quick way to organize and rank teams initially would be to take the teams with the most NIL spend and combine that with the best coaching. This was, of course, too rudimentary. But it was a place to start. What has resulted is an early look at ranking teams and seeing which rosters get the most juice out of their NIL squeeze. CardSignal

This one is more of a fun hobby project than anything else. The idea is to track price movement across trading card sets to predict future price movement. You can check it out at CardSignal.live
